Georgia’s Surly Troll MTB 26” dropbike

This was a very long project for us and Georgia and we are very happy that it finally made it to completion.

A major issue with female riders that want to have a dropbar bike is how to fit in a 700c frame while avoiding toe overlap and short stem issues that give instability of handling. It is our experience that female riders prefer a more upright stance on the bike since it gives them more freedom to move legs and torso. This was true for Georgia also and our recommendation was to avoid 700c frames altogether and aim for a 26” wheel MTB bike that we would build up as a dropbar.

Using some of her stock parts from her previous bike we used this Surly MTB Troll frameset in maroon colour and dressed it up with Shimano Deore triple groupset. We also used mechanical easy to maintain disc brakes Avid BB7 and short and swallow Soma Highway 1 dropbars.

So kickstarting our MTB adventure build is this top bike that will be used with racks for commuting and touring.

Nice one Georgia!
