Ivan’s Surly Straggler Watermellon gravel grinder

This gravel frenzy is actually starting to make sense if we will be building bikes like this!
Ivan asked for an all around off-road gravel/adventure machine that can withstand any kind of abuse. From trails to fire roads, and from asphalt to fully loaded touring.

Straggler is getting more and more sophisticated as a bike that can do all, given the fact that it started as a Crosscheck with disc brakes. Now it fits 700×42 tyres – check the Knard that we installed – and features post-mount brakes and all sorts of bosses you will need, keeping a fast approach to riding feel.

We laced Aivee hubs on H+Son Archetype rims and installed a full Shimano GRX groupset with hydraulic brakes.
For cockpit we used a Ritchey gravel handlebar on BLB cnc stem and Selle Italia saddle on Cinelli pilar.

We really loved building this bike, a super smooth dirt tourer but also crazy and contemporary in the right places.
