Konstantinos Velo Orange Pass Hunter complete tourer
An incredible bike for our last custom build of 2015. Konstantinos was looking for a sport commuter and a bike to do a bit of adventuring in the country side. He also loves retro looking bikes but wanted to avoid used vintage and heavy bike. So we chose the Velo Orange Pass Hunter frameset in cherry red, choosing the oversize headtube for stability, the canti or v-brakes for convenience as well as its elegance and attention to detail.
We chose to work this bike on 2×10 Tiagra for sturdy convenience but fitted the Gevenalle 2×10 shifting system because we love it and it is the best for a touring bike (much better than any Shimano equivalent or the bar end system), we also chose the VO Grand Cru 48/34 crankset for its superior beafiness (full CNC 7075 alloy). For wheels we laced Ambrosio hubs on Ambrosio Excursion rims, we raised the cockpit via the stem for extra comfort wanting to utilise the upright position since Konstantinos is commuting in a suit and we chose the Nitto B132AAF touring road bar to give extra angle on the levers – especially if you are to use a handlebar bag.
When it comes to brakes there is no comparison to the Paul Components Minimotto’s braking power and elegance. The build is rounded up with a VO Microfiber saddle and Fyxation 28c tyres. Cassette is 12-30. Fantastic build that rides like butter.
